Welcome fellow crafters and vintage lovers!

To keep things separate I created this other blog to share with you my creations, treasures hunting finds, but also post about subjects, images and the many talented people who inspire me worldwide.

Over the last few years I have become more and more a nostalgic person making me think that those were the days. Which era? Many. All of them had their highlights but also their down falls, life wasn't easy. Is it easy now? I'm not sure, today is difficult in a different way, I have the impression that we are saturated of many things and that many of us realizing it return to the ways of yesteryear. I personally have put myself the challenge of not falling in today's excessive consumerism and decided that I would buy clothes and necessities for the house on flea markets, I will repair a frock if it needs to and prolong it's life. I will create presents for my friends and family, I cook my food from scratch, etc. It does demand a little more effort but I am a firm believer that we live better this way, spend less and are more fulfilled.
We live in an era of complete Nostalgia, the word 'vintage' is seen everywhere, I am not the only one looking back with awe.

I remember when I was a child I have been dragged numerous times to flea markets by my mother where she would sell bits and pieces some days and other times her applique creations. That's where my love for crafting and treasure hunting began.
My mother always had a sewing room and it is comforting for me to be in one today, all those fabrics, buttons, the colours, the creativity!
I gladly sacrifice a Saturday night partying and get up at 6 o'clock on Sunday to go treasure hunting and/or spend an after-noon crafting and sewing.

As a child my Christmas gift would be a kit to make ceramic wall hangings and after school I would observe my mother working her magic on her sewing machine.
Needless to say that I love to craft, sew, creating something with my hands, I always have and I'll always will. It is the one thing that really makes me happy.

This is who I am in the big lines, well, the creative me.
Feel free to drop me a line, leave comments and tell me your thoughts on what I make or post. I would love to hear them.
Greetings,
Leila
